Data Deletion Instructions
You can request deletion of your Wink Coffee account and the personal information we hold about you at any time. This page explains how to submit a request, what we delete, what we must retain, and how long it takes.
How to request deletion
Send us an email from the address associated with your Wink Coffee account:
- Email hello@winkcoffee.com with the subject line "Data deletion request".
- In the body, include:
- Your full name.
- The email address associated with your Wink Coffee account.
- (Optional) Any order numbers or usernames you'd like us to reference so we can find your records.
- A short confirmation sentence: "I request deletion of my Wink Coffee account and personal information."
- We will reply to confirm receipt, verify your identity if needed, and proceed with the deletion.
What we delete
Once we verify a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize:
- Your account profile (name, username, password hash, email address).
- Your saved addresses and phone numbers.
- Your subscription preferences and marketing opt-in records.
- Your in-app game progress, farm state, achievements, streaks, and virtual-item balances.
- Product reviews and ratings you posted (on request; anonymous reviews may remain, with your name removed).
- Analytics and device identifiers we can associate with your account.
What we may be required to keep
Some information must be retained even after an account deletion to meet legal, tax, fraud-prevention, and accounting obligations. Specifically:
- Order and payment records — invoices, tax records, and payment processor logs are retained for up to seven (7) years as required by U.S. tax and accounting law.
- Legal holds — if we are subject to a legal hold, subpoena, or open dispute, the relevant records are retained until that matter is resolved.
- Aggregated analytics — information that has been de-identified or aggregated such that it can no longer be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely.
These retained records will be kept in a restricted state, used only for the legal purpose that required their retention, and not used for marketing, analytics, or any customer-facing purpose.
Timeline
- We acknowledge deletion requests within 5 business days.
- We complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying the request, unless a longer period is needed (for example, to remove backups — which are overwritten within 90 days).
- We will send you a confirmation email when the deletion is complete.
Third-party data
We will forward your deletion request to service providers that store your information on our behalf (for example, Shopify, Airtable, and our email service provider) and ask them to delete their copies, subject to the retention obligations described above.
If you were shown Wink Coffee ads on Meta (Facebook / Instagram) and want Meta to stop using your information for our ads, you can also adjust this in your Facebook or Instagram ad-preferences settings directly.
Alternatives to full deletion
If you prefer, you can also:
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any marketing email.
- Sign out of the mobile app and clear local save data from your device settings.
- Request correction of inaccurate information without deleting your account.
